Elect Romney 2012 Invited To Tour MD247.COM

On July 13, 2012, in Roanoke Virginia, President Barack Obama made a series of remarks which fanned the slightly dying embers of every small business owner’s resolve. The speech gave an often hodge-podge group something to unify for, something to mobilize for and damn well something to be “mad as hell” over in its final run toward the 2012 Republican National Convention.

Roughly two weeks prior, we had all been trampled by the reality that the businesses we had created would need to shrink in upon themselves in order to stay afloat after the Supreme Court upheld the healthcare overhaul. The decision of the Supreme Court was demoralizing, deflating and downright damaging to the “Elect Romney 2012” campaign. Then President Barack Obama allowed his true beliefs to shine through.

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges," President Obama said at the time. "If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."

Needless to say, “you didn’t build that” did not resonate well with small business owners who have poured every ounce of “who” they are into every facet of their business. The refrain built a campaign for small business owners with the “Elect Romney 2012” campaign, one which allowed every business owner who has put too much of their own life into their business the chance to say “I built my business.” The rallying cry cemented itself on the web at http://www.mittromeny.com/builtbyus, and it honestly provided your next door neighbor the opportunity to say “I did build my own company.” It gave business owners the opportunity to regain self-respect.

With the “I built my business” project in play, Thomas Meehan has extended an invitation to the “Elect Romney 2012” team to make a visit to the MD247.COM offices during the 2012 Republican National Convention. The MD247.COM Founder wants to really illustrate for the world just how many people benefit from the hard work of one business owner with the resolve to “build” their own business.
